Merilyn (Lyn) Allison
Director (Chatham-Kent)

Department: Board of Directors

A long time resident of Chatham‐Kent, Merilyn (Lyn) Allison was born in Sturgeon Falls in northern Ontario and grew up in Toronto where she received her elementary and secondary education. Lyn obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Windsor and a Master of Science in Nursing (Administration) from the University of Western Ontario.

Most of her working career was spent in community health nursing becoming Director of Public Health Nursing and later Director of Home Care Services for the Chatham‐Kent Health Unit. Following this, Lyn operated a management consulting business. For the past nine years, Lyn has taught nursing on a part time basis for St. Clair College at the Thames Campus.

Lyn has been active in many community groups; for instance, serving as Chair of the Public General Hospital Board of Trustees, President of the Chatham‐Kent Zonta Club and President of the Chatham‐Kent Dickens Fellowship.
Lyn welcomes the opportunity to begin her work as a Board Director with the Erie St. Clair LHIN as an extension of her lifelong interest in providing effective health care services from a systems perspective to the people in our region.
