Michael Hoare

Profile: Dr. Hoare has led a diversified career in health and human services; the military; post-secondary education; human resources and consulting.

He served as a specialist officer in the Personnel Psychology Branch of the Canadian Forces initially on a full-time basis and then, part-time for many years concurrent with his civilian employment.

Within the college and university sector, Michael has been employed as a professor; counsellor; clinical coordinator and, in various administrative positions, retiring as Dean, Health Sciences and Human Services. He has performed a wide range of consulting jobs including overseas projects in Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd National Guard Hospital and at the Marikina Institute of Science and Technology in the Philippines.

Early in his career, Michael was the founding Executive Director of a Community Health Centre in Northern Manitoba. He has most recently served as Board Chair of the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre and is active on several Boards both local and national. Among numerous memberships, he is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and received his doctorate from the University of Toronto.

Dr. Hoare resides in Grand Bend with his wife Marianne who is a retired occupational health nurse.
