Lisa is responsible for working collaboratively with
Aboriginal partners and other health service providers to build positive working
relationships and identify strategies that will improve health services for
Aboriginal people. She is the lead and primary resource for planning and engagement with Aboriginal communities within the South West and Erie St. Clair LHINs.
The role of the Aboriginal Consultant entails being responsible for: identifying barriers and challenges with
respect to health status and access to health care services within the Aboriginal
communities, building effective relationships, and identifying strategies and
initiatives aimed at addressing the health care needs of the Aboriginal
population. This role is key in contributing to improved relations with Aboriginal
partners and working collaboratively to achieve common goals and increase cultural awareness and sensitivity among health care providers and services.
